1. Who we are

For You Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a creative media business based in Cape Town, South Africa, offering social media management, graphic design, and web design and build. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through foryoumedia.co.za and in the course of working with you.

2. Our Information Officer

3. What we collect

• Contact form details: your name, company name, email address, phone number, industry, the service you’re interested in and your message.
• Email correspondence: anything you send to us by email, including enquiries about our packages.
• Project information: details, files and brand assets you share with us when we work together.
• Basic technical information: our website host may record standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running.

4. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and send you quotes or proposals.
• To deliver the services you’ve asked for and manage our working relationship.
• For admin, invoicing and record keeping.
• To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we won’t add you to any marketing list without your consent.

5. Why we’re allowed to process it

We process personal information because you’ve given us consent (for example, by submitting our contact form), because it’s needed to take steps towards or carry out an agreement with you, because of a legal obligation, or for our legitimate interest in running our business, always in a way that respects your privacy.

6. Who we share it with

We only share personal information with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need:

• our website hosting provider, which stores the website and contact form submissions;
• our email service provider; and
• Google (Google Drive), where we store client and project information.

These providers are required to keep your information secure. We never share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

7. Information stored outside South Africa

Some of our service providers, such as Google, may store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use reputable providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA, as POPIA requires.

8. How we keep it secure

We store personal information in password-protected accounts that only we can access, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

9. How long we keep it

If an enquiry doesn’t lead to work together, we delete it within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as we need them to deliver our services and meet our legal and tax obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

10. Cookies

Our website only uses essential cookies that WordPress needs to work properly. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

11. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request a copy of it;
• ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
• object to how we process your information, or withdraw your consent; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Our services are aimed at businesses. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
